
1 lb ground beef
85/15

2.5 cps water

6 oz tomato paste

2 Tbsp chili powder

1 Tbsp granulated garlic

2 Tbsp onion powder

1 tsp mustard powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper
coarsely ground

½ tsp cumin

½ tsp cayenne pepper

¼ tsp cinnamon
Step 1
Place beef and ½cp of water in a cold pan.
Step 2
While stirring together beef and water, turn heat on to medium low.
Step 3
Continue to stir meat until you have a light brown color and a fine gravel texture.
Step 4
Drain excess fat and return beef to pan.
Step 5
Add tomato paste and stir to fully combine. Continue stirring over medium low for 5 minutes.
Step 6
Add in seasonings, fold to combine.
Step 7
Once fully incorporated, reduce heat to low, add remaining water and stir until fully combined.
Step 8
Simmer covered for 1-2 hours. Stirring every 15/20 minutes. (Until it reaches your preferred consistency)
